Why AF.FEM Press Matters

For too long, the publishing world has treated the experiences of People of Color as a footnote. At AF.FEM Press, we are flipping the script. We aren't asking for a seat at the table; we are building our own.

This press exists to amplify the brilliance that has been pushed to the margins. We focus on the "profoundly human"—the messy, beautiful, and authentic realities of womanhood that deserve to be documented in ink. My goal as a founder is to provide the craft and the community needed to turn a quiet truth into a powerful legacy.

Our Mission

AF.FEM Press exists to cultivate a sanctuary for stories born from the depths of womanhood—stories shaped by the intersecting identities of marginalized voices, with a dedicated focus on the experiences of People of Color. We honor truths that are tender, fierce, and profoundly human; uplifting narratives too often pushed to the margins.

We champion these voices by guiding authors along their literary journeys with care, craft, and unwavering support. As we nurture writers, we also gather a vibrant community of readers who seek connection, illumination, and creativity.

The Three Pillars

  • The Studio: Providing creative consultations, illustration, and professional book design to bring visions to life.

  • The Press: Crafting small-batch prints, books, and zines that celebrate the brilliance of writers of color.

  • The Collective: Hosting Woven Branches magazine and creating art and writing opportunities for our community.
