Dearest Drabble #2: Thunderstorm

The thunderstorm continued its restless torrent over the town, locking us all away in the dungeons of our own homes. Sally and I stayed quiet, for we didn't know what it was that called the skies to roar so violently. I'm glad to have a friend like her, though. If not for her, I wouldn't be so well off, I fear. After all, she has been the one to carry the weight of life under our new "normal" and to keep me from even daring to step outside. (We both know what happened the last time I made that mistake.)
